Samsung Electro-Mechanics has signed a record supply deal worth nearly $800 million with a multinational company to provide MLCC capacitors for AI servers. The one-year contract is, according to the South Korean company, the largest long-term MLCC supply agreement it has ever concluded.
The deal highlights how the AI boom is benefiting not only semiconductor makers, but also component suppliers tied to server infrastructure. MLCCs, or multilayer ceramic capacitors, are essential electronic parts used to stabilize power and support the high-performance systems that power AI workloads.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics did not disclose the customer’s identity, but said the agreement underscores strong demand for AI-related hardware.
