Microchip is expanding its space-grade atomic clock portfolio with the Space CSAC-SA65, a compact chip-scale atomic clock designed for small satellites and other New Space platforms that need precise timing in a reduced footprint.
The new device is rated for 30 kRad radiation tolerance and operates across a temperature range from -40°C to +80°C, making it suitable for demanding space environments. Microchip is positioning the part as a timing solution for the fast-growing New Space market, where demand is rising for smaller, lower-cost components that can still deliver high-precision synchronization.
By adding the Space CSAC-SA65 to its lineup, the U.S. company is broadening its offering of space atomic clocks to address the needs of compact satellite systems, where size, power consumption and reliability are critical constraints.
