Hervé Ribot has rejoined Minalogic as Director of Micro-Nano & Quantum technologies, effective March 3, 2025. He returns to the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes innovation cluster after a prior tenure as Micro-Nanoelectronics Director from 2018 to 2021, during a secondment from CEA-Leti, and three subsequent years at CEA-Irig bolstering strategic partnerships and research for the digital and energy transition. Ribot takes over the micro-nanoelectronics and quantum sectors from Tony Maindron, who has moved back to the CEA.

In his new role, Ribot will also spearhead the French Competence Center under the EU Chips Act, tasked with identifying, supporting, and preparing French startups and companies to access the Chips JU Design Platform. The goal is to enable the development of competitive ASICs, driving a new wave of European fabless companies and reinforcing strategic semiconductor autonomy. He brings deep expertise in innovation financing and Minalogic’s operations.

General Delegate Erasmia Dupenloup highlighted the region’s strengths in micro/nano/electronics and quantum as critical to national and European challenges, expressing confidence that Ribot will help ecosystem players excel on the European stage. The appointment underscores Minalogic’s pivotal role in advancing semiconductor sovereignty and quantum technology.

Minalogic is pleased to announce the return of Hervé Ribot to its innovation team. As of March 3, 2025, Hervé has taken up the position of Director, Micro-Nano & Quantum technologies, in charge of the FDSOI Competence Center. Hervé takes over the micro-nanoelectronics and quantum sectors from Tony Maindron – who has returned to the CEA – and will take on the new role of project manager for the French Competence Center within the Chips Act framework.

Already familiar with the cluster, Hervé held the position of Micro-Nanoelectronics Director between 2018 and 2021, on a first secondment from CEA-Leti. His expertise and his knowledge of innovation financing mechanisms as well as Minalogic's operations and services, make him an invaluable asset to the ecosystem.

After three years at CEA-Irig, where he was involved in strengthening strategic partnerships and promoting research related to the digital and energy transition, Hervé returns with an enriched vision and reinforced expertise.

He will lead the cluster's micro-nanoelectronics and quantum communities, and support our members in their innovation projects.

A new key role for European sovereignty

Hervé will also be in charge of the French Competence Center, run by Minalogic as part of the Chips Act: a key role in the development of the national semiconductor ecosystem over the next few years. Its main objective will be to identify, support and prepare French startups and companies to access the Chips JU Design Platform, in order to develop competitive ASICs.

This role is essential to the emergence of a new generation of European fabless companies and for strengthening Europe's strategic autonomy in this field.
