A report by engineering consultancy Artelia, revealed by *Le Monde*, has raised concerns about the subsidence of the Loze hill reservoir in Savoie, near Courchevel. The structure was inaugurated for the 2023 Alpine Ski World Championships and is also intended to supply snowmaking for a slope planned for the 2030 Winter Olympic Games in the French Alps.
The issue is significant because the reservoir is part of the infrastructure being positioned as a long-term asset for major winter sports events. Its apparent settling now calls into question the stability and reliability of a facility that was meant to support both elite competition and future Olympic snow production.
