Würth Elektronik has expanded its WL-SMDC Horticulture LED family with three new 3535-format models designed for greenhouse lighting, vertical farming and controlled-environment agriculture. The German manufacturer says the new devices reach up to 4.9 µmol/J in photosynthetic photon efficacy, a key metric for horticultural lighting performance.
The additions strengthen the company’s offering for growers looking to optimize light output for plant growth while improving energy efficiency. By targeting serres, vertical farms and other controlled cultivation systems, Würth Elektronik is positioning the WL-SMDC Horticulture range as a solution for professional agricultural lighting applications where spectral quality and efficiency are critical.
The new LEDs extend an existing horticultural portfolio rather than replacing it, signaling continued investment in this segment as demand rises for high-performance lighting in indoor and precision agriculture.
