Sopht, a Paris-based startup specializing in IT spend optimization, has raised €7.5 million in a Series A round to curb what it calls wasteful corporate technology budgets. The funding was led by Bpifrance’s Digital Venture fund, with participation from existing backers XAnge and business angels including the former CIO of a CAC 40 company, bringing total investment since its 2022 founding to €10 million. The company intends to use the fresh capital to accelerate product development, roll out generative AI capabilities for automated contract audit, and open offices in London and Berlin by mid-2025.

Founded by Anne Dupont and Marc Lefevre, both ex-Big Four consultants, Sopht provides a SaaS platform that ingests data across cloud providers, software licenses, and hardware leases, then applies machine learning to flag overlapping subscriptions, underutilized assets, and renegotiation levers. It claims to have already analyzed over €1 billion in client IT spend, achieving average savings of 20–30% for mid-market and enterprise customers such as Nexity and Groupama. “CFOs and CIOs lack real-time visibility into their sprawling IT stacks. Our technology gives them a single pane of glass with actionable recommendations, not just dashboards,” Dupont said in the announcement.

The round reflects mounting pressure on enterprises to rationalise digital costs amid inflation and rapid SaaS proliferation. Unlike global competitors such as Apptio, Sopht emphasises European data sovereignty and a pragmatic integration layer that sits alongside existing financial systems.
