The electronics manufacturing services group is adding two new surface-mount placement modules at its Lutterworth site in England, where they will be used for medical manufacturing. At the same time, it is automating an assembly line in Penang, Malaysia, in a move that will lift local monthly output capacity first to 72,000 units and then to 145,000 units.
Escatec is headquartered in Malaysia but has a significant international footprint, and the latest upgrades underline its strategy of strengthening capacity in both Europe and Asia to support growing demand, particularly in regulated medical production.
