In 2023, Hugging Face had already assembled an unusually broad roster of strategic backers, including Salesforce, Google, Amazon, NVIDIA, Intel, AMD, Qualcomm and IBM. Three years later, that shareholder list looks almost like a shortlist of would-be acquirers.
According to *The Information*, NVIDIA would be prepared to pay $12.9 billion to take control of the AI platform. That valuation would amount to nearly 86 times Hugging Face’s revenue, underscoring both the company’s strategic importance in the AI ecosystem and the premium that major tech groups may be willing to pay for access to its position at the center of model distribution, tooling and developer adoption.
The report highlights how Hugging Face has evolved from a startup into a critical infrastructure layer for the AI industry, making it a highly coveted asset for the biggest players in the market.
