微软在 Build 上提到的 MXC(Microsoft Execution Containers)也会成为相关方案的一部分。

Solara 的底层平台是 MDEP(Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform),这是一个基于 AOSP 的系统,也就是去掉 Google 服务的 Android 变体。

Summary
Microsoft’s “Project Zenith” will ship preconfigured developer PCs requiring at least 64GB unified memory, starting with devices powered by AMD Ryzen AI Halo chips. The initiative, building on Microsoft’s Build announcements, bundles tools and configurations such as Coreutils (Rust-based GNU coreutils/findutils), Windows Dev Skills for WinUI development with GitHub Copilot/Claude Code/Codex, and Windows Developer Configurations (GA) that automate setup for WinGet, install common dev stacks, and enable WSL 2; it also includes “Intelligent Terminal” (experimental), a fork of Windows Terminal with native agentic CLI integration. In parallel, Microsoft highlighted “Project Solara,” an Android-derived (AOSP-based) device ecosystem platform (MDEP) for agentic apps using just-in-time UI concepts developed with MediaTek and Qualcomm, and discussed security/isolation via MXC (preview) using TypeScript SDKs and JSON schemas across multiple container backends.

Microsoft is preparing a new line of preconfigured developer PCs under the Project Zenith banner, with a minimum requirement of 64 GB of unified memory. The first machines will use AMD Ryzen AI Halo chips, positioning the initiative as part of Microsoft’s broader push to make Windows a “trusted platform for development,” as emphasized at Build.

Project Zenith will bundle several tools Microsoft has already moved to general availability. Among them is Coreutils, a command-line utility set based on Rust reimplementations of GNU coreutils and findutils. Another is Windows Dev Skills, a package of skills for building WinUI applications with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and Codex. Microsoft also brought Windows Developer Configurations to GA at Build 2026: these automated setup profiles are designed to streamline development environments, with the main WinGet configuration installing PowerShell, Git, GitHub, VS Code, .NET, Python plus uv, Node.js, Coreutils, Oh My Posh and PowerToys, while also applying Windows settings such as dark mode, Git integration in File Explorer and hidden-file visibility, and setting up WSL 2 with Ubuntu.

The Project Zenith devices will also include Intelligent Terminal, still experimental, which is a fork of Windows Terminal with native support for agentic CLIs and shell context awareness. Microsoft is also highlighting security for agentic applications, pointing to MXC, or Microsoft Execution Containers, a preview isolation technology that combines a TypeScript SDK and JSON schema with multiple back ends including ProcessContainer, LXC, Bubblewrap, MicroVM and Hyperlight.

Zenith also reflects Microsoft’s local-AI strategy and its focus on the “token economy,” though no new announcement was made here. At Build, the company mainly stressed expanding Windows AI APIs to more chips, including speech recognition on CPU and NPU and SLMs on dGPU, while also introducing Aion models tied to a reportedly lighter Windows project with Copilot as the main interface.

Separately, Microsoft’s Solara project targets AI rather than developers. Built on the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform, or MDEP, an Android-derived OS based on AOSP without Google services, Solara aims to create devices for agentic apps using a just-in-time UI concept, where agents adapt the interface to the device. Two concepts have been shown so far, developed with MediaTek and Qualcomm: one resembles an Amazon Echo or Google Home-style assistant, while the other takes the form of an electronic badge. Microsoft first released MDEP in 2024, and it officially supports around a dozen SoCs from MediaTek, NXP, Qualcomm and Rockchip.
