Lynred’s infrared technologies will equip the future satellite constellation of German start-up Constellr, with deployment set to begin in 2028, strengthening Europe’s industrial footprint in Earth observation. The Grenoble-based company and Constellr, which specializes in thermal infrared Earth observation, have announced a cooperation centered on detection technologies.
The partnership links a major European infrared specialist with a young space company focused on thermal imaging from orbit. By integrating Lynred’s sensors into Constellr’s planned constellation, the two companies aim to support a more firmly rooted European supply chain in the Earth-observation sector, an area where strategic autonomy and industrial capability are increasingly important.
Constellr’s constellation is expected to start rolling out in 2028, marking a concrete step in the company’s expansion from start-up status toward operational deployment. The collaboration also underscores Lynred’s role as a key industrial player in infrared detection, extending its technologies from terrestrial applications into space-based observation.
