Nexperia is turning to India as it remains locked in a protracted legal dispute with its Chinese parent company, Wingtech. The Dutch chipmaker will produce MOSFETs and other discrete components at Tata Electronics’ plants in Dholera and Jagiroad, under a partnership that goes beyond manufacturing to include packaging, testing and technology innovation.
The move comes as Nexperia continues to navigate the fallout from its ongoing conflict with Wingtech, which has left the company in a difficult position. By deepening ties with Tata Electronics, Nexperia is seeking to strengthen its industrial footprint and diversify its production base outside China.
The agreement with Tata Electronics is significant because it covers the full chain of circuit production, from fabrication to encapsulation and testing, while also opening the door to joint technological development. For Nexperia, the partnership offers a way to secure capacity in a fast-growing market and reduce exposure to geopolitical and legal uncertainty tied to its Chinese ownership structure.
