Applications are now open for the fourth edition of the ECS Summer School, scheduled for 23–28 August 2026 in Bertinoro, Italy. The program will select 40 undergraduate students from across Europe for an intensive, fully-funded week focused on the semiconductor and microelectronics ecosystem.

The summer school is designed as an immersive gateway into Europe’s Electronics Components and Systems (ECS) landscape. Participants will attend high-level lectures from industry and academic experts, technical sessions on key technologies, and career-focused industry perspectives. A strong emphasis is placed on networking, with dedicated opportunities for students to connect with peers and professionals.

Eligibility is limited to undergraduate STEM students enrolled at universities in the EU or associated countries. Applicants must have completed at least two years of study and have at least one year remaining in their degree program by August 2026. Proficiency in English is required.

The selection process, which closes on 29 March 2026, will evaluate candidates based on a motivation letter, optional recommendation letters, and academic transcripts. The organizers aim to ensure gender, geographical, and academic diversity among the 40 participants. Successful applicants will be notified by 5 May 2026.

All food and lodging costs are covered for selected students, and a shuttle bus will be provided from Bologna. The event is co-organized by AENEAS, EPoSS, INSIDE, SEMI Europe, and ABGi France, with sponsorship from Robert Bosch.

Eligibility Criteria

The ECS Summer School is open to undergraduate students who, by the time of the event:

Have completed at least two years of university studies

Have at least one year remaining before completing their undergraduate degree

Are enrolled in a STEM discipline

Study at a university located in the EU or an associated country

Have a good command of English, as all sessions will be held in English

Selection Process
