TE Connectivity has signed a definitive agreement, announced at the end of July, to acquire U.S.-based Astrodyne TDI from investment fund Tinicum for $1.4 billion.
The deal expands TE Connectivity’s portfolio with advanced power and filtering solutions for power electronics, aimed at industrial, medical and defense markets. TE Connectivity, a global leader in connectors and sensors, is using the acquisition to strengthen its position in higher-value electrical infrastructure and power-management applications.
Astrodyne TDI brings specialized technologies that complement TE Connectivity’s existing expertise, adding capabilities in power conversion and electromagnetic filtering for demanding environments. The transaction underscores TE Connectivity’s push into adjacent markets where reliability, performance and regulatory requirements are especially stringent.
