Soitec has sharply raised its outlook for the second quarter of its 2026-2027 fiscal year, now expecting quarterly revenue growth of about 50% year on year, up from the 30% increase it had forecast just a month earlier. The Grenoble-based semiconductor materials group says the upgrade is being driven by surging demand linked to artificial intelligence, which is boosting its Photonics-SOI business.
Photonics-SOI has become the key growth engine for Soitec, reflecting strong appetite for the company’s silicon-on-insulator substrates used in advanced photonics applications. The revised guidance underscores how quickly AI-related demand is translating into higher activity for the group, prompting it to materially improve its revenue expectations over a very short period.
Soitec’s announcement signals a stronger-than-expected acceleration in this segment and suggests that AI infrastructure demand is having a direct impact on its commercial performance. The company’s new forecast marks a significant step up from its previous estimate and highlights the growing strategic importance of Photonics-SOI in its portfolio.
