Rapidus is aggressively expanding its ecosystem to meet its ambitious goal of producing 2-nanometer semiconductors by 2027. The Japanese startup has launched a new analysis center and a subsidiary, Rapidus Chiplet Solutions, to strengthen its industrial and technological foundation.

This push is backed by substantial government support. The Japanese government has just granted Rapidus an additional $4 billion in subsidies, underscoring the national strategic priority of regaining leadership in advanced chip manufacturing.

The newly established analysis center will focus on critical R&D and quality control for next-generation chips. Simultaneously, the creation of Rapidus Chiplet Solutions is a strategic move to master advanced packaging technologies, which are essential for performance and efficiency in cutting-edge semiconductors.

These steps represent a comprehensive effort by Rapidus to build a complete domestic ecosystem—from design and fabrication to advanced packaging and testing. The 2027 target for 2nm production places the company in direct competition with global leaders like TSMC and Intel, aiming to restore Japan's prominence in the high-stakes semiconductor industry.
